Quaker State Driver Continues Streak of Top-10 Finishes

Kinser on the track

The World of Outlaws Sprint car Series had a busy weekend of racing with three nights of racing action beginning at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Friday, June 19 followed by events at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota on Saturday, June 20 and Nodak Speedway in Minot, North Dakota on Sunday, June 21.

Kinser kicked off the weekend with a strong showing at the high-banked 3/10-mile River Cities Speedway. After qualifying in the sixth spot, the 20-time World of Outlaws champions scored a pair of wins by taking the top spot in his heat race as well as the Crane Cams Dash. With the Dash win, Kinser started the 40-lap A-main from the pole.  The Quaker State driver battled side-by-side with eventual race winner Donny Schatz from the drop of the green flag before losing the second spot on the final lap to finish third.

"I should have just stayed on the top the last lap," said Kinser. "I tried to go to the bottom and missed the bottom and got hung up and let Joey (Saldana) get by me at the end."

Saturday brought on the high-banked half-mile oval of Red River Valley Speedway where Kinser is the winningest driver in World of Outlaws competition.  A seventh-place qualifying run led to another heat race win for the Bloomington, Indiana native. After starting in the 11th spot for the 30-lap A-main, Kinser gained a couple of spots to finish ninth and keep his streak of top-10 finishes going.

The final night of racing action was at the high-banked 3/8-mile oval of Nodak Speedway. After qualifying the Quaker State Maxim in the fifth spot Kinser went on to finish fourth in his heat race. An eighth-place finish in the Crane Cams Dash put the Quaker State driver in the fourth starting row for the A-main. After 35 laps of racing action Kinser brought his Quaker State Maxim home to another top-10 finish taking the checkered flag in the ninth position.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action on Friday, June 26 at U.S. 36 Raceway in Cameron, Missouri followed by an event at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on Saturday, June 27, 2009.
