The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series headed to the Midwest this weekend with scheduled stops at Huset's Speedway in South Dakota and the famed Knoxville Raceway in Iowa.

Flooding and wet weather forced the cancellation of the event at Huset's Speedway on Friday causing the Series to turn their attention to Saturday's running at the semi-banked half-mile of Knoxville Raceway.

Steve Kinser was coming off his first win of the 2009 season with nearly 60 wins at the famed track going into Saturday's event. The Bloomington, Indiana native won his heat race after qualifying in the eighth position.

He followed that up with a fifth-place finish in the six-lap Crane Cams Dash. Starting from the fifth spot Kinser fell back a few spots early in the event before working his way back to the front. Using a late-race restart to snag the third position the Quaker State driver finished third to earn his series best 14th top-10 finish in just 15 events.

"I didn't run the best race in the world in the feature," said Kinser. "I was in the wrong spot going into (turn) one and got kind of tangled up and lost a couple of spots. Then I just lost the balance on the car a little bit. It wasn't a bad run, we just need to be a little better."

Kinser remains the points leader with a 25-point advantage over the second-place driver. The World of Outlaws return to action at the famed Eldora Speedway in Ohio on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9.
