Kinser Scores Top-10 In Vegas

Twenty-Time Champion has Solid Start to 2009 Season
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returned to The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past week for their fourth event of the 2009 season.
Quaker State driver Steve Kinser picked up his first win at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the opener of a three-night event on March 2, 2000.
The Bloomington, Indiana native looking for his first win of the 2009 season entered this yearâs event trailing point leader Donny Schatz by just 21 points.
The cars took to the semi-banked half-mile oval for the first time since 2006 opening the racing action with qualifying. Kinser and his Quaker State team turned in a lap of 14.616 seconds, good enough to put them 14th overall.
The 20-time World of Outlaws Champion competed in his heat race where he finished sixth in the eight-lap race advancing him on to the A-main later in the evening.
Kinser raced hard throughout the 30-lap feature event gaining six spot to finish eighth for the evening. With his top-10 run Kinser now has a three top-10 finishes along with a top-five in the first four events of the season.
Next up for the Quaker State team is the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California on March 13-14. This yearâs running of the event will mark the first time since 1992 that the World of Outlaws has sanctioned the Mini Gold Cup. Kinser is a former winner of the Mini Gold Cup.
