Contractors and Employment

As part of Shell’s ongoing partnership with the communities of northwestern Colorado, Shell remains committed to hiring qualified, local contractors and employees for our ongoing oil shale efforts.

In addition to our commitment to the community, high standards for safety are our number one priority and must be the number one priority for our contractors and employees.

The Shell Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy and Commitment

  • Sets targets for improvement and measures, appraises and reports on performance;
  • Requires contractors to manage Health, Safety, and Environment in line with this policy;
  • Requires joint ventures under its operational control to apply this policy and use its influence to promote it in its other ventures;
  • Includes Health, Safety, and Environment performance in the appraisal of all staff and rewards accordingly.
