Shell Chemical LP And Shrieve Chemical Products sign marketing agreements for oilfield applications

03/02/2005

Shell Chemical LP and Shrieve Chemical Products announced today the formation of marketing agreements for synthetic olefin and synthetic paraffin drilling base fluids.

In the agreements, Shell Chemical LP will contract directly with multi-national oilfield service companies for olefin drilling base fluids under the NEOFLO brand name.

Shrieve Chemical, which has been marketing Shell Chemical LP’s olefin fluids since 1995, will continue to provide full customer relationship management (CRM), logistical support and technical service in the Gulf of Mexico region.

“Combining Shell Chemicals’* global presence and Shrieve Chemical’s experience in CRM and technical support will promote international market development of NEOFLO fluids,” said Sean Clarry, end-use manager, Shell Chemical LP.

Shrieve Chemical will also continue to globally market its BIO-BASE paraffin base fluids, which are designed to replace diesel in land-based oilfield and zero discharge operations. BIO-BASE fluids utilize paraffins manufactured and provided by Shell Chemical LP.

Shrieve Chemical’s primary BIO-BASE fluids storage location is on the U.S. Gulf Coast and will be serving the local and international oilfield service company markets with multi-modal capabilities.

“Our expanded relationship with Shell Chemical LP will enable us to effectively meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly diesel replacements,” said Phil Beckler, president, Shrieve Chemical Products.

“Our customers can continue to rely on our proven 24/7 customer service and a secure source of supply from Shell Chemicals to ensure they have the right product in the right place at the right time,” he added.

* “Shell Chemicals” is the expression used to describe the companies of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies engaged in the Chemicals businesses. Each company is an independent entity.
