Shell Energy Services Completes Transition of Approximately 70,000 Customers

08/01/2004

Shell Energy Services has successfully transferred approximately 70,000 natural gas accounts from USP&G. This assignment of customers in the Dominion East Ohio (DEO) service territory was completed Dec. 31, 2003.

Customers will notice the change in supplier on their Jan. 2004 bills, but they will not experience any change in gas service or the rate they are currently paying based on the existing agreements customers initiated with USP&G.

Shell and USP&G worked closely with Dominion East Ohio and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to ensure these accounts were transitioned smoothly.

“We are delighted to welcome these new customers to Shell and look forward to providing them with exceptional natural gas service,” said Shell Energy Services President & CEO Steven Murray.

Customers who were affected by this transfer received letters from USP&G and Shell notifying them of this transition.  Customers who may have recently received a renewal notice from USP&G will also have their agreements honored by Shell.  All customers reported by DEO to be a USP&G customer for Jan. 2004 gas delivery were transferred to Shell.

Customers did not have to take any action for their account to be assigned to Shell, but should there be any questions they can visit Shell’s website at www.shellenergy.com, call 1-877-55-SHELL or email customercareoh@shellenergy.com
