What is your current role at Shell?
My role is to design Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures here at the Delaware City Refinery. A couple of the projects that I am currently working on are: integrating several emergency response plans into one consolidated document, and developing an HSE Management System for the refinery.
What do you like best about your role?
I like that I have the opportunity to interact with all the departments and find out how we can provide them with HSE support in order for them to operate safely and stay in compliance.
Tell us about your background and experience
I have a multi-disciplinary degree with emphasis in environmental health and planning. When I started out at Shell, I was an environmental analyst in Sales and Marketing. I transitioned to HSE, then took an opportunity to spend some time in the financial/business area as a Business Services Representative. My experience in Shell has primarily been in HSE compliance.
What makes you stay at Shell?
Shell is a global company and large enough for one to pretty much pursue any number of careers while staying within the same organization. In general, Shell is a company that I am proud to be affiliated with not only for work, but also for its strong presence in the community. Shell is continuously building upon its public image, and as a result we all recognize the company in a positive way!
