The Shell Graduate Program

You will spend 3 years as a Production Engineer within the Technical area of the Shell Graduate Program. You'll join a network of highly experienced Production Engineering professionals, with whom you will explore your creativity and desire to innovate while working on some of Shell’s most groundbreaking projects. The Graduate Program is a solid foundation for anyone seeking to become a future company leader.

Production Engineering

Our Production Engineers oversee the full lifecycle of Shell’s ongoing field development, from design conception to the final phase of production. You’ll work with a team of petroleum engineers and geoscientists as part of a global network of colleagues responsible for optimizing asset performance, field development planning, and maintaining existing wells and platforms.

Roles and responsibilities

You could be involved in a variety of operational areas, including:

  • Conceptual well and completion design
  • Well/reservoir interface design
  • Well, reservoir and facility management
  • Well integrity management

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Planning field development

  • Operating and maintaining existing wells and platforms

  • Managing day-to-day operations against long-term strategic objectives

  • Modelling and optimizing well flow performance

Training and development opportunities

We want you to fulfill your potential and enhance your engineering skills. While in the Shell Graduate Program you'll receive continuous coaching, mentoring, and formal and on-the-job training. Areas in which you will receive formal training include exploration, development, manufacturing and project services. In addition, you can expect regular in-depth progress checks with your supervisors, enabling you to reach your goals and discover how much you can achieve.
