Shell prepares for Mississippi River floods

Emergency management teams are actively monitoring the situation.

Our thoughts are with members of the Shell and Motiva family who are dealing with the impacts of the Mississippi River flood situation.  As always, the safety of our employees and contractors is our top priority.

Emergency management teams are actively monitoring the situation.  Shell has seen no impacts to its operations in the Gulf of Mexico and adjoining waterways as a result of the Morganza Floodway and Bonnet Carre Spillway openings.  However, as a precautionary measure, all flights out of the Amelia, Louisiana heliport have been relocated.  Additionally, Shell is preparing its Morgan City terminal for any potential flood impacts by relocating employees and critical equipment.

Business Continuity Plans

All staff in potentially affected facilities and locations should reference business continuity plans and procedures. With respect to reporting to work during the flooding, please follow the advice and instructions of your supervisor and the local communications you have received.  You may access local announcements via (866) 745-5489 or (877) 40-SHELL, Options 6 and 7.  Additionally, you may access any Corp Comm messages by choosing Option 9 on these lines or via the web at www.shell.us/help

As we better understand the impact of the flooding, more information will be provided via local management and through the usual emergency communications channels, such as CorpComm emails, the Shell Notification System and the www.shell.us/help website.

Please remember to make your safety and the safety of your family your top priority.
