In the Community - Puget Sound
The Puget Sound Refinery is more than an oil processing plant. It’s a place where generations of area residents have found jobs, built careers, supported families and made friends. Woven into the fabric of everyday life in Skagit County, it’s committed to supporting and improving the communities its employees and contractors call home.
People from the refinery are actively involved in area civic, social, church, and school organizations. Throughout the year, employee teams participate in various local events and community service projects ranging from holiday parades to fundraisers.
The refinery itself has a rich history of contributing to a wide range of local charities and sponsoring events and programs to help support them. Its focus primarily is on organizations and programs that:
- Protect the environment
- Or enhance the education of area young people and adults, especially those for whom these opportunities are not readily available
