Shell Deer Park tees up at the Cotton Watkins Golf Tournament

Annual tournament all about helping students at Deer Park High School

As the school semester winds to an end, Shell Deer Park continues to demonstrate its strong support of academic excellence and educational opportunity through its annual sponsorship of the Ninth Annual Cotton Watkins Memorial Golf tournament.

Held at the Deer Park Battleground Golf Course, proceeds from the tournament contribute to the DPISD Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Each year, four deserving Deer Park High School seniors earn much-needed scholarships to help pay for tuition at a four-year college.

The Shell Deer Park team showed up bright and early to play in the 18-hole Florida scramble and proudly represented the company and its advocacy of college-bound students.

This year's scholarship recipients, Kelly Callens, Kirbie Ferrell, Derryn Hebert and Sydney Sexton, will receive each $4,000 split into $1,000 each semester for two years. Since the tournament began in 2003, the fund has awarded more than $75,000 in scholarships to Deer Park students.
