Save the Date for the Fun Run!
What
The "Strides for Schools" Fun Run/Walk is an all-community event designed to encourage support and recognition for the Deer Park school system.
Why
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Deer Park Education Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that funds teachers’ grants for creative programs not available through the normal operating budget of the school district. Participating in the Strides for Schools Fun Run helps support Deer Park ISD students as they endeavor to reach their highest potential.
Who
Runners, walkers, and supporters of all shapes and sizes, as well as families from Deer Park and surrounding communities, are encouraged to participate for a morning of competition, exercise, and outdoor fun.
When
Saturday, April 9, 2011
- 7:00 a.m. Race Day Packet Pickup and Onsite Registration
- 8:25 a.m. Anthem/Pre-Race Meeting
- 8:30 a.m. 5K Run Start (followed shortly by 5K Walk)
- 9:30 a.m. Awards Ceremony/Post-Race Party
Where
Race begins in front of Dow Park (610 East San Augustine Street) in Deer Park. Race details: Entry fees submitted online or postmarked by March 23rd are $20 for Adults and $10 for Youth 18 and under. Late registration fees (March 24th – April 9th) are $30 for Adults and $15 for Youth 18 and Under. The Fun Run is USTAF certified and will be chipped-timed.

Artwork
Deer Park High School student Kevin Huynh created the Strides for Schools Official Logo (above) last fall through a Shell-sponsored art contest.
