Shell Deer Park Maintenance To Impact Local Traffic

The number of additional contract workers at Shell will peak at approximately 500 per shift in late January, and will decline
as the projects are completed in early March.

Heaviest traffic will be occurring during shift changes from 5 - 8 a.m. and 5 - 8 p.m. daily, with reduced staffing on Sundays. Shell has arranged for Harris County sheriff’s deputies to assist with traffic control.

Because the turnarounds involve shutting down and restarting process units, there is the possibility of higher than normal flaring the third week in January and last week in February. We have put procedures in place to minimize flaring at all times.
