Shell Alaska Scientist Speaks at Arctic Policy Forum

The topic of the night was "The Role of Science in Responsible Development."
Fran Ulmer, the chair of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission, also presented. She focused on the ongoing importance of the need to advance an Arctic research policy.
Dr. Macrander shared insights into Shell’s commitment to science in the Arctic, including Shell’s $5 million science collaboration with the North Slope Borough.
He also spoke about the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Shell, ConocoPhillips and Statoil signed with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to formally share scientific information the companies have worked individually and jointly to collect.
