Shell Signs MOU with NOAA for Sharing of Scientific Data
Pete Slaiby, VP Shell Alaska
We are very excited about this agreement that will place important scientific data in the hands of NOAA scientists and the scientific community.
This step will aid further development of effective management and long term monitoring and continued responsible decision-making.
"We are very excited about this agreement that will place important scientific data in the hands of NOAA scientists and the scientific community," said Pete Slaiby, VP Shell Alaska.
"While we firmly believe sufficient data exists to support exploration drilling in both the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas, we acknowledge the need to collect additional data prior to any development," Slaiby added.
Moving forward, Shell believes there are many opportunities to share resources and work together to provide the most robust understanding of this unique environment. We look forward to working more closely with NOAA.
