Shell in Alaska
The oil and natural gas locked beneath the seas off Alaska have the potential to help meet increased global energy demand into the future. These resources must be developed responsibly. At Shell we have decades of experience of operating in the extreme Arctic and subarctic environment.
Our experience working in rigorous and challenging conditions in the Arctic means that we are qualified to do the job right -- to explore for offshore oil and gas in Alaska in a very safe and careful way.
Royal Dutch Shell plc (“Shell”) today announced it will pause its exploration drilling activity for 2013 in Alaska’s Beaufort and Chukchi Seas to prepare equipment and plans for a resumption of activity at a later stage.
