The crown jewel of the region, New Orleans, was hit the hardest with an unprecedented storm surge that swallowed the city whole. New Orleans suffered catastrophic damage, leaving it in a state of disarray, the likes of which had not been seen since the Civil War. As the ten year anniversary of that historic storm approaches, this unique film looks at the city’s comeback.
Among those that helped the region get back on its feet in the days that followed was Shell Oil Company. Facing untold damage to its prolific oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and the decision of whether to move operations out of the decimated city, Shell chose to stay. But that was the easy part; now it was time to rebuild.
